Some of you would be aware that my favourite Australian magazine is no longer as the future of Oxygen Magazine Australia is currently in limbo.
While it is such a blow to the fans of this iconic fixture in the Australian health and fitness industry, I am personally feeling so very honoured and blessed to have been a small part of the history of the magazine and it's impact on the strong and amazing women in our country (indeed world wide).
The last issue (#101) hit newstands back in January and I was thrilled to see that I had been lucky enough to have my last article published in the final edition.
I'll forever be grateful to Lindy and the Oxygen team for the many opportunities they have given to me as part of the Oxygen family and I'll always have the many friendships and memories that we have all created along the way.
My final article was of course on a subject that I feel so passionate about and I will continue to champion on whatever platform I am able going forward. Even if it's just my humble little blog.
Ageism, anti-ageing advertising and marketing, negativity around the ageing process.....all of these things make my blood boil as the years pass - and the peri-menopause takes grip!
This article is meant to serve as a prompt to check your language, check your labels, check your assumptions and your judgements that are all formed around the subject of women and their age.
A woman is no 'less' because of her number.
A woman does not disappear with each year that passes.
A woman is just as relevant, important and valuable at 55 as she is at 25. In fact she has far more to offer in terms of experience, knowledge and advice because she has LIVED.
A woman is a woman and she is EFFING awesome regardless of her birth year.

Please enjoy the read and my farewell to Oxygen Magazine Australia - one of the great champions and voices for women of all sizes, shapes, ages and backgrounds.
Here's to being irresistible at every age.
